The medicine is effective in treating the symptoms of acute diarrhea. It is important to take this medicine along with abundant liquid intake and an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement.
This medicine has Racecadotril, an active ingredient with an anti-secretory effect. It reduces fluid loss from the body by reducing the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine.
- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.
- It can be taken with food.
- Inform your doctor if you have a fever, blood or pus in stools, chronic diarrhea, diarrhea caused by antibiotics, kidney or liver problems, or prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting.
- Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and other medicines to rule out potential side effects.
- It should not be given to children younger than three months of age.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor.
